Owner and Horticulturist Kevin Manning established K&D Landscape in 1999, bringing new concepts in landscape design, plant healthcare and responsive delivery of landscape services to Chicago’s south, southwest and western suburbs.
K&D Landscape operates two divisions; residential landscape services and commercial landscape services. In each of those divisions you will find experienced, well-trained and courteous professionals who can provide expert advice and skillful field management of your landscape installation or maintenance projects.

Our Profile and Expertise
Kevin Manning, Owner, Horticulturist
Company founder, Kevin Manning, oversees both the residential and commercial divisions. Twenty years of industry experience and a degree in Ornamental Horticulture
Kevin’s professional perspective and enthusiasm are imbued into the staff at all levels to insure a seamless, thorough and service-driven approach to the benefit of the client. In-house lighting design is still a duty performed by Kevin for our residential customers.from the University of Illinois have helped Kevin hone his considerable skills to manage both the projects and the staff involved in detail-oriented residential landscapes, as well as multi-year municipal, commercial and public works projects.
As K&D Landscape has grown, Kevin has begun distributing some of the specific management duties to staff members while he performs administrative duties to maintain a healthy corporate profile and bottom line. Kevin was recently named to the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association Experience Committee which is responsible for developing the iLandscape trade show in Schaumburg.
John Algozzini, Director of Design
John Algozzini joined K&D Landscape Management in January, 2012 and brings a considerable list of credentials to the position of Director of Design. His landscape design portfolio includes multiple state and national award winning projects that represent styles from French Country to Post-Modern Urban. His landscape design projects include such high-profile locations as the Playboy Building on Chicago’s Lakeshore Drive and the house from the movie ‘Home Alone’ in Winnetka. In 2010, his ‘Urban Oasis’ landscape renovation project in Lincoln Park (Chicago) was named top design in the state by the Illinois Landscape Contractors Association.
Magazines such as This Old House, Great Backyards, West Suburban Living and Luxe have featured designs by John Algozzini in their issues. In addition, he has taught design-related courses the last two years at Chicago’s Navy Pier and conducts speaking engagements for garden clubs.
John also holds a volunteer position on the Illinois Landscape Contractors Design Panel, is a judge for the annual Unilock Landscape Awards as well as a contributing editor for two national gardening magazines.
Al Schwab, Construction Manager
Recently promoted to Construction Superintendent, Al Schwab has nearly fifteen years of experience in the landscape and construction industry. He will now be providing direct supervision on job sites, expediting the work force and deliveries so that landscape projects start and finish on time. His other major role is that of snow commander – managing K&D Landscape’s snow and ice management operations during the winter season.
As a licensed plumber, Al provides the added benefit of in-house gas line work for outdoor kitchens and grills designed and built for clients by K&D Landscape. Additional duties include the purchasing of hard goods such as brick and retaining wall block.
Phil Rausch, Commercial Project Manager
Phil Rausch holds a degree in ornamental horticulture and applies 25 years of construction experience to managing commercial installations and commercial maintenance accounts for K&D Landscape. Phil is a third-generation nurseryman with extensive knowledge about how plants perform in our local climate and geology. His expertise in construction is comprehensive with a significant background in the installation of segmented retaining walls and bio-swales. In addition to estimating, Phil shares responsibilities for purchasing equipment, tools and products and is heavily involved in training staff. Sharing his knowledge with future construction professionals, Phil has taught landscape estimating classes at Joliet Junior College.
Stephanie Pardy (Mathews) Office Administrator
Office Administrator Stephanie Pardy joined K&D Landscape Management in 2008. Her duties include reception, managing receivables and payables, as well as other clerical functions such as maintaining records, files, and office equipment. Stephanie is strongly focused on customer service and understands that she is the first ambassador for K&D Landscape when assisting clients.
